Bob and Sara's Wedding

                     October 10, 2019

Heart on fire

Bob and Sara went to Key West, FL and stayed at the Pier House Resort and Spa.  Key West is known for its beautiful sunsets.  Their suite faced the evening sunset.  They were married, on the beach, just before sunset  The ceremony was a Celtic Handfasting Ceremony, using a cord that Sara's sister Ann, brought back from Ireland.

                   Hand Fasting Ceremony

Bob and Sara chose to honor their Irish heritage with a handfasting ceremony. Handfasting is an ancient Irish wedding tradition that has come to be interpreted literally, as the symbolic act of “tying the knot.”

In ancient Ireland, two people who chose to be married were brought together,  and faced each other. With arms extended, they clasped hands and a braided chord or ribbon was wrapped and tied around their hands.

The Officiant would complete the ceremony and pronounced them married.
